Wampum Pentecostal Church - Wampum PA

Text Coming Soon!

In 1926 the First Pentecostal Church, led by the Reverend Braden Houk, was founded in Wampum. Services were held in the Wampum Theatre on Main Street for the next decade. In 1937 a lot was purchased at the end of Main Street near the Wampum Public School and construction of a church commenced. The new church, under the Reverend Alford Bunney, opened in the fall of 1937. Through the generousity of the congregation the mortgage was paid off in 1947 and a parsonage was opened in 1957. The church was in service until I believe it closed in the 1990’s. (c1950) Full Size
