Michael “Mickey” Michalyko began plans in late 1962 to establish a bowling alley in Neshannock Township. He purchased property along the Wilmington Road, near the New Castle Country Club, and soon began construction efforts. The new 24-lane Colonial Lanes opened for business on Saturday, October 5, 1963. It was affiliated with the AMF corporation, a recreational equipment company known for its chain of bowling centers. The business was upgraded numerous times in the coming years and is still in business today. (1964) Full Size |
