  1. do you help find grave markers? My grandparents, Eli and Agnes Markus are buried at St Agatha but the office claims to have only one Markus there, George (Eli’s brother). They claim to have no listing for Eli and Agnes. Thank you !

  2. (EDITOR’S NOTE) Mary, I did a quick search of the New Castle News and other sources for Eli Markus. I see that he died in November 1953 and the obituary for him in the New Castle News indicates he was buried in “St. Agatha’s Cemetery.” Odd that the cemetery has no record of him. I would suggest walking the cemetery and checking the names on the stones. A good place to start is in the same vicinity as George’s grave. I’ll keep an eye out on my next visit to the cemetery as well. Jeff

  3. (EDITOR’S NOTE) Mary, I would suggest you go to the Joseph A. Tomon Jr. funeral home in Ellport. The services for Eli Markus were handled by the P. O. Contrucci Funeral Home, a business that was acquired by Tomon in 1979. They hopefully still have the old Contrucci records. Jeff
