 In 1808 the Unity Baptist congregation was organized in Harlansburg and initially held services in private homes. They soon began sharing a log cabin church with Methodists and Lutherans along Old Perry Highway (now Church Road). The Baptists later purchased some property just across the street and laid out their own cemetery in 1848 and then erected a small brick church in 1850. An addition was added to the building in 1977 and the Unity Baptist Church is still in active service today. (May 2012) |

I am trying to find the grave of one of the first preachers at the old Harlansburg Baptist Church, John McConahy. Would appreciate any info or leads. My grandson ,Jesse McConahy, is a direct descendant.

I would like to know if there is a William Vogan and Mary Harlan buried there. I visited the grave but could not find the head stone. I have the Unity Baptist Church Cemetery Book that states they are buried there. Is there another cemetery that I am missing?

I am trying to find the grave of “ELLEN HETTENBAUGH BRUCE” who died in 1903. She was married to “John Bruce” and they had 13 children: George, Hiram, Rile, Mary Ellen…She had a brother named “GEORGE HETTENBAUGH”. Any information would be greatly appreciated!
