Do you have record of death/burial of Leesburg resident Elizabeth Offutt Persch – born in 1899, 1900 or 1901. She was the daughter of Leesburg resident John C. Offutt. She married Charles F. Persch, Jr., in 1919.
Thank you very much.

(EDITOR’S NOTE) Gayle, I found one record for PERSCH at this cemetery. It’s for Elizabeth Offutt Persch 1900-1924. I’m not certain but I believe the neighboring stone is for Emma Smith Offutt 1864-1944 – second wife of John Offutt. Hope this helps. As always big thanks to D.K.C. Jeff

Where might I find record of marriage of Elizabeth Offutt to Charles Persch,Jr.?
Where did she go to high school? Might there be a photo of her in high school year book maybe in local library?
Thank you.

My grandfather’s name was Hugo (Hugh) BETLER. He died in 1932 and the funeral director that handled the arrangements was from New Wilmington. Even though the newspaper said he was buried in the “Mercer Cemetery”, he lived in East Lackawannock Twp. and we can find no grave for him in any of the Mercer Cemeteries. Could you check and see if he might be buried in the Leesburg Cemetery?
Thanks!

Editor – I would like to contact Gayle regarding Persch history. Can you pass on my details?

Find-a-Grave indicates William Wilkin (?-1856), originally from Sadsbury, Chester County, PA, who died the same year the church was organized, and Sarah Harlan Wilkin (?-1874), his wife, are buried in the Leesburg Cemetery in Mercer County. Can you confirm this and do you know if the gravestones are still in existence to photograph?

I am researching the final resting places of the 139th PA Volunteers from the Civil War. Find A Grave has two listing for Henderson Wimer, one in Arlingtion National Cemetery and the other in Leesburg Cemetery. The date of death is the same in both listings – 3 Jun 1864. Would you be able to tell me if you have a record of him being buried there? Or if there is a memorial to him there? I would appreciate any information you might be able to provide. Thank you!
