The congregation grew slowly – but steadily – due to the remote location of the church. The building was lost to a storm in 1856 and was replaced with a larger structure the following year. The congregation was thriving by the 1890’s and the church was enlarged and rededicated in 1898. The church has been greatly improved over the years and is still in service today. In 2001 the congregation celebrated its 200th anniversary. Providence is the oldest Baptist Church in all of Beaver County, and over the years has helped establish numerous Baptist congregations throughout the region. (Oct 2014) Full Size |

Can you tell me where I could find records from the earliest days of the church? In particular, I’m trying to see if there is a record of the birth of my 3X-great-grandmother in about 1804.
Thanks for your help, and a Happy New Year to you.

Do you have a list of those buried in Providence Baptist Church Cemetery? I am looking for Hiram and Rachel Wallace. Rachael was the daughter of Michael Nye. Can you tell me where to find early church records? Thank you for your time and help.
